Who we are...
Our instructors & mentors have spent many years attending trainings all around the country learning the art of mentoring humans into deep connection with nature, each other, and themselves. Mentors at WNP are skilled in getting kids inspired and excited to learn. Our strategies include the arts of storytelling, questioning, demonstration, challenging, listening, timing, and observing the individual and group energy/emotional states. We are constantly challenging ourselves to creatively come up with new games, activities, and ways of introducing lessons.

Kevin Glenn
Director, Youth Mentor, Adult Programs Instructor
Nature Mentor, Connection Coach, Entrepreneur, Podcaster
Over 24 years ago, I made a conscious decision to follow my passion for all things nature-connection and to share that passion with others. That choice led me to travel all across the United States to seek out insightful teachers and unique workshops.
Connecting people to nature has become my activism in the world. I believe that if we can share the value of nature with children then they will grow up making decisions that are good for the planet, for each other, and for themselves.
Here's just a few of the keys that I think make up a successful nature class...
I look forward to meeting you!

Here's just a few of the keys that I think make up a successful nature class...
- Kids feel safe to be themselves.
- Kids feel seen and heard by their teachers/mentors.
- Parents feel confident in our care and attention.
- Mentors are deeply connected to nature and can share that passion with their students.
I look forward to meeting you!

Rose Harding
Youth Mentor, Little Turtles
Hello, my name is Rose! I've been camping and exploring wild areas in the eastern United States since I was a child. Since moving to a rural area of Bloomington, that spirit of exploration has only deepened; building relationship and community with the space surrounding me. Walking among the trees, mushroom patches, and plants along the ridges surrounding my home is one of my favorite pastimes. I believe that in building our relationship with the plants and cycles of the earth we can deepen our understanding of ourselves as humans.
As an avid forager, I love to understand as many plants and fungi as I can. Sharing that knowledge (and perhaps a meal!) with friends is a real joy. Wild crafting food and medicine and creatively using natural materials in art projects are some of my favorite things. I am also CPR and first aid certified.

Becca Urbano
Youth Mentor, Little Turtles
Hello Wild Nature Project friends & families!
My name is Rebecca Sophia Urbano, but I like Becca. I was raised in Oak Lawn Illinois with my three sisters and lots of cousins. There was always someone to play or explore with. The seeds of exploration grew in my mind and soul since I was young. I grew up going to the town in Mexico where my grandma grew up and helping my aunts cook tortillas over a fire. This taught me to live slow and appreciate the little things. Working on farms and helping butcher and process pigs connected me to my food and fueling my body. Bottle feeding newborn goats and turning milk into cheese all felt so connected. My life began to turn into a symbiotic relationship with the land and animals around me.
After deciding to plant our roots a little deeper, my partner Aidan and I moved to Bloomington this past spring. One reason being the Forest School Community. Empowering curiosity and fostering children in nature is a precious gift. I have been delighted to see the wonderful works of Forest School in action at Cedar Valley Farm & Forest school, where I work alongside the lovely Rose Harding. I am so excited to be a part of the Wild Nature Project family and I look forward to meeting you all.
With much gratitude, Becca.

Josh Jackson
Youth Mentor
Josh has been part of Wild Nature Project pretty much since it began about 20 years ago. He joined the "WILD" class for 5 years (along with his wife Tonya) where he learned wilderness survival skills, wildlife tracking, wild edible & medicinal plants, and bird language. This cultivated his passion for nature and mentoring and he has become one of the valuable assets to our community.
Today, many people (and kids) know him also from "Goat Camp" and his work co-managing The Goat Conspiracy. He has 3 kids of his own and also sometimes 100s of goat kids to care for!
